October 26, 1996 - Receiver Brian Adamson set a school record for most receiving yards in a single game.  Adamson hooked up with quarterback Tom Pincince for 212 yard and 10 receptions.  The two also combined for three touchdowns including a 39 yard TD strike to defeat Merrimack 33-6.

W.B. Mason Stadium 

 

The College's new, multi-purpose athletic facility, W. B. Mason Stadium was formally dedicated on September 10, 2005. The playing field at the stadium, Timothy J. Coughlin Memorial Field, was also dedicated on September 10th in memory of Tim Coughlin, a former football standout of Stonehill's Class of 1980.

W.B. Mason President and CEO Leo Meehan, who is also a Stonehill trustee and alumnus, announced that the Company and its alumni employees have committed $1.5 million toward cost of the almost $4 million project.

More than 60 Stonehill alumni work at W. B. Mason and they were present at the President's Dinner to mark the historic occasion.

The 2,400-seat W.B. Mason Stadium  is one of the premier athletic facilities in the Northeast 10-Conference.

The multi-purpose outdoor facility has a 400-meter, eight-lane track, artificial turf, specialty areas for track and field events, and lighting for evening use.

The facility is also home to field hockey and women's lacrosse.


Skyhawk Field 

 

The former home of Stonehill football and women's lacrosse, Skyhawk Field has been the exclusive home of both men's and women's soccer since 2005.

Located at the south entrance to the College, the complex hosted the 2003 NCAA Women's Lacrosse National Championship, which Stonehill captured with a 9-8 win over Longwood.


Merkert Gymnasium 

 

Merkert Gymnasium is a 2,200-seat capacity arena, home to the Stonehill men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams.

The facility, housed inside the school's College Center, has ample locker room facilities for all home and visiting teams and is the home of the school's athletic training facilities.

With its large crowds and enthusiastic fans, "The Hangar", is one of the best home court advantages in all of New England collegiate basketball.


 Lou Gorman Field

 

Opened in 2005, Lou Gorman Field is the home of the Stonehill baseball team.

Named after the former Red Sox General Manager and Stonehill alumnus, the facility was shifted to accomodate the construction of W.B. Mason Stadium.

The Skyhawks have enjoyed much success in their new home, posting a 62 percent winning percentage in the facility's three year existence. Its dimensions are as follows: 325 (LF); 390 (CF); 325 (RF).


Charles Watt Tennis Courts

The home to both the men's and women's tennis teams at Stonehill Colllege, the Charles Watt facility has played host to numerous Northeast-10 and NCAA Tournaments. Featuring six regulation courts, the state-of-the-art facility was resurfaced in 2005.

Fr. Gartland, C.S.C. Field 

Named after the first athletics director in Stonehill College history, Fr. Gartland C.S.C. Field is home to the Skyhawk Softball program. The field was relocated in time for the 1997 season. The facility, which adjacent to Skyhawk Field, has the following dimensions: 190 (LF), 200 (CF), 200 (RF).
