Lou Proietti of Hamilton, Ontario is in his fourth season on the Stonehill baseball staff, and as of 2017 has been named Associate Head Coach. Coach Proietti is the Recruiting Coordinator, Hitting Coach and works closely with infielders and outfielders.

Proietti is a 2007 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he also received his master's degree in 2009. He earned his master’s in Organizational Leadership from Rider University in 2015. Coach Proietti has been fortunate to work with over 50 MLB Draft Picks.

Proietti played shortstop at UMass Amherst and went on to play professionally in Italy. In 2006, Proietti led the Minutemen in batting average, hitting .329 and also led the team in stolen bases. Prior to playing for UMASS, he helped Potomac State College advance to the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Before coming to Stonehill, Proietti was an Assistant Coach at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey from 2012-15. During his tenure as Hitting Coach and third base coach, Proietti helped Rider to two regular season MAAC Championships including holding the school record for most wins in a regular season in 2013. Head coach Barry Davis won the MAAC Coach of the Year award in both 2013 and 2015. In 2014, Proietti helped Rider third baseman Nick Richter lead NCAA Division 1 Baseball in stolen bases with 41.

From 2010-12 Proietti acted as Hitting Coach for the Oneonta Outlaws of the PGCBL (Pefect Game Collegiate Baseball League). From 2013-2016, Proietti coached the Plymouth Pilgrims in the NECBL (New England Collegiate Baseball League). As hitting coach, Proietti helped 1st round MLB Draft Pick Brent Rooker from Mississippi State win the 2015 NECBL MVP award.

A teacher and baseball coach at Georgetown Prep School in North Bethesda, Maryland, Proietti has served as a hitting instructor at Pitcher's Edge in McLean, Virginia and as an assistant coach at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
