Toronto, Ontario sophomore earns weekly honor for second time in career
White earns the honors for the first time this season and second of his career after posting a combined 5-1 record in singles and doubles play in a 3-0 week for Stonehill during its annual spring break trip to central Florida. White and sophomore doubles partner Aleksander Lazowski won all three of their matches at No. 2 doubles for the Skyhawks, while White also went 2-1 at No. 3 singles. White was a double-winner in Stonehill's victories over Oneonta and Cedarville. In the 6-1 win over Oneonta, he and Lazowski registered a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles for the Skyhawks and then he posted a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles against freshman Dalton Capobianco. White and Lazowski teamed up for Stonehill's lone doubles win against Cedarville with their 6-4 decision, and then provided the match-clinching point for the Skyhawks by battling past Cedarville freshman Timmy O'Brien 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 10-8 at No. 4 singles.
White is a combined 13-10 in singles and doubles play this season. He has posted a 6-4 singles record with a 3-1 mark at No. 3, while posting a 7-6 doubles record with three different playing partners. The NE10 All-Rookie Team selection following his freshman season, also earned NE10 Player of the Week honors on September 12, 2017 during his first collegiate season, when he also collected Rookie of the Week accolades three times. White is a combined 34-27 in singles and doubles play through the first year and a half or so of his collegiate career, posting a 16-10 singles mark, including a 4-2 record in NE10 play, while posting an 18-15 doubles record.
Stonehill (7-2, 0-0 NE10) returns to action on Saturday, when it hosts Roger Williams College for a non-conference match at 1 p.m. The Skyhawks open their NE10 schedule on Tuesday, March 26, when they host Assumption College at 3:30 p.m.
