Easton, Mass.-- Sixteen Stonehill student-athletes were honored today for their efforts in the classroom at the Department of Athletics annual Academic Excellence Breakfast held on campus as part of the celebration of 2007 National Student-Athlete Day.
Each individual honored during the event has achieved the highest grade point average on his or her respective Skyhawk squad through matriculation of the Fall 2006 semester and received special recognition from Stonehill's Academics/Athletics Committee. Additionally, student-athletes were accompanied by members of the College's faculty and administrative staff.
Anne Mattina, Associate Professor of Communications at Stonehill, was also honored as the recipient of this year's Outstanding Faculty Member Award as presented by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
