Fullerton leads three
Skyhawks in top four, four in top seven

MANCHESTER, Conn. (September
12, 2009) - The Stonehill College men's cross country
team, ranked 13th in the U.S. Track & Field and
Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II poll, won
the Trinity Invitational at Wickham Park today. The Skyhawks placed
three runners in the top four and four in the top seven.
Stonehill posted a 33 team score as
the Skyhawks took second, third fourth, seventh and 17th
place from its scoring runners. The College of New Jersey placed
second with 84 points in the nine team field that including NCAA
Division I, II and III teams to compete. American International
College rounded out the top three.
Junior Patrick Fullerton
(Bradford, Mass/Haverhill) placed second overall, out of
86 runners, with a time of 16:00 over the 5K course to lead the
Stonehill contingent. American International freshman
Glarius Rop (Eldoret, Kenya) won the event with a
time of 15:35.
Finishing ten seconds behind
Fullerton in third place for the Skyhawks was junior co-captain
Daniel Pilz (Newington, Conn./Newington) with a
time of 16:10, while senior Joshua Andrews (Chelmsford,
Mass./Chelmsford) took fourth in 16:15. Junior Ben
Rumery (Dayton, Maine/Thornton Academy) turned in a top
ten finish with a time of 16:26 for seventh overall.
Freshman Todd Sather
(Melville, N.Y./St. Anthony's) rounded out Stonehill's
scoring runners with a 17th place finish in 16:47.
Stonehill is back in action next
Saturday at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational beginning at noon.
