HAMDEN, Conn. (September 8, 2024) – Senior forward Lucia Pompeo broke a scoreless deadlock 6:29 into double-overtime to lift Quinnipiac University to a 1-0 triumph over Stonehill College in a non-conference field hockey matchup at QU Field Hockey Stadium this afternoon.

How It Happened
- Pompeo's fifth career gamewinner came in seven-on-seven extra time with 3:32 to play in the second overtime as she took a pass from the right side and slipped past a defender on the right side of the cage and slotted a shot past the charging Conte to end the game.
- The winner came after Conte had stopped the first eight shots she faced through regulation and the Skyhawks successfully defended three Quinnipiac penalty corners between the fourth quarter and first overtime.

- Conte is the fifth goalkeeper in Stonehill history to surpass 300 career saves, finishing her 38th career game with 307 stops to trail Elizabeth Genovese, '15 (342) for fourth place on the program's all-time list by 35 saves.
- Sara Freedman, '19 holds the program record with 466 career saves.
