PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Oct. 4, 2025) – The Stonehill football team fell on the road at Duquesne in an NEC matchup by a score of 34-14 Saturday afternoon at Rooney Field.
With the result, the Skyhawks head into their bye week at 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the NEC, while the Dukes move to 3-3 and 1-0 in the NEC.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Following a scoreless first quarter, Taj Butts gave Duquesne a 6-0 lead on an 18-yard touchdown rush at 10:20 of the second.
Jermaine Williams blocked the ensuing extra point to keep it 6-0 in favor of the hosts.
Later in the second, Ness Davis upped Duquesne's advantage with a 20-yard run to the endzone, making it 13-0 with 2:09 to play in the half. The Dukes struck again before the break on a 21-yard touchdown pass by Tyler Riddell to Ryan Petras with 36 ticks left on the clock, 20-0.
Riddell found Petras for a 52-yard TD strike late in the third to give Duquesne a 27-0 lead with 1:51 remaining in the frame.
In the fourth, Turner got the Skyhawks on the scoreboard with a four-yard TD reception from O'Connell on fourth down, making it 27-7 with 11:12 to play. The Dukes responded with a score on its next drive on a seven-yard pass from Riddell to Joey Isabella, 34-7, at 6:58.
Shawn Brown found the endzone on an 11-yard rush by the quarterback in the final minute of play to bring the score to 34-14 with 55 seconds left.

Stonehill (2-4, 1-1 NEC) will enjoy a bye week before traveling to New Haven, Conn., to take Yale (2-2, 1-0 Ivy League) in a non-conference matchup at the Yale Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 12 p.m.
