Football Downs Saint Francis, 20-10, on Senior Day

EASTON, Mass. (Nov. 22, 2025) – The Stonehill football team capped its season by taking down Saint Francis by a score of 20-10 on Senior Day at W.B. Mason Stadium Saturday.

The Skyhawks improved to 3-4 in the NEC and 4-8 overall, while the Red Flash conclude its year 0-7 and 0-11.

STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Domenic Scalese connected on Stonehill's longest field goal of the season when he hit a 48-yarder in the first quarter. Scalese added a 45-yard field goal later in the first half.
  • Jack O'Connell now has 2,555 career passing yards, good for ninth in team history and 23 career touchdown passes, which ranks 10th in Stonehill history.
     
  • Joshua Roberson had 105 rushing yards at the half and finished with a career-high 128 Roberson's 128 yards on the ground also marked the most for a Stonehill player in a single game in 2025.
     
  • Stonehill's defense forced five turnovers, three interceptions and two fumbles, a team high for this season.
     
  • Tyler Bannon had one of those interceptions and finished the game with two pass breakups and four tackles, including 1.0 for a loss.
  • Anthony Busa led all players with 12 tackles, including 2.5 for a loss, and also had an interception, returning it 28 yards.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Skyhawks grabbed an early 3-0 lead when Domenic Scalese drilled a 48-yard field goal at 11:24 of the opening quarter. The Red Flash responded with a touchdown on its next drive, as Adrian Mejia found Brandon London for a 50-yard reception to put Saint Francis up, 7-3, at the 8:08 mark.

In the second, Jack O'Connell connected with Cody Ruff for a 24-yard TD, as the Skyhawks went back on top, 10-7, with 10:14 remaining in the half. Scalese hit a 45-yard field goal at the 5:56 mark, as Stonehill upped its advantage to 13-7. The Skyhawks struck again at 4:30 when O'Connell found Cole Clarke for a 17-yard touchdown, 20-7.


Mac Plummer converted a 40-yard field goal attempt at 14:50 of the fourth quarter, as Stonehill led, 20-10, at the beginning of the final frame.
