GREENVILLE, S.C. (February 9, 2025) – The Stonehill College Softball team lost 8-0 in five innings to UT Martin on the final day of the Paladin Invitational hosted by Furman University at Pepsi Stadium Sunday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ava Scott ripped a triple into the left center field gap, driving in the first run of the game for the Skyhawks in the top of the first inning. UT Martin tallied one more in the inning, bringing Scott in from third on a sacrifice fly.
Another run came in for the Skyhawks on an error in the second inning before Ava and
Dylan Scott each drove in runs on RBI singles in the third as UT Martin built a 5-0 lead.
A two-run home run to left center capped off a dominant performance for the Skyhawks as UT Martin won in five innings, 8-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Sophomore Harper Sullivan (Glendale, Ariz.) went 2-3 with a pair of singles while junior Natalie Bottiglieri (Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded her first extra-base hit of the season with a double in the first inning.
- Freshman Sarah Taylor (Concord, N.H.) fell to 1-1 in her second start in the circle, throwing 2.2 IP, allowing five hits and four earned runs while striking out three.
- Sullivan entered the game in relief of Taylor in the third inning, throwing her first 2.1 innings of the season, allowing two hits, a homerun, and three earned runs.
- UT Martin's Ashtyn Green threw all five innings for the Skyhawks, striking out three batters and throwing a complete game shutout.

- Stonehill softball is off until March 7, when the Skyhawks take on Ball State and Evansville on day one of the Bellarmine Invitational in Louisville, Ky. at Knights Field.
