Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at Hammock Beach Invitational

PALM COAST, Fla. (March 14, 2025) – The Stonehill College women's golf team ascended to fifth place in the standings after the second round of the Hammock Beach Invitational, held at the Hammock Beach Golf Resort and hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne. The Skyhawks posted a combined score of 322 (+34) in round two, bringing their total score for the tournament to 657 (+81).
 
Sophomore Helen Brodahl and first-year Zoe Miller led Stonehill's charge, each finishing tied for 16th on the individual leaderboard with a two-round score of 158 (+14).
 
Brodahl, after shooting an 83 (+11) in the opening round, rebounded impressively with a 75 (+3) in round two. The Portland native recorded a stellar front nine, finishing at one-under par after parring six of the nine holes and securing back-to-back birdies on the fourth and fifth holes.
 
Miller, who posted a second consecutive 79 (+7), finished the tournament tied for fifth in the field with 22 total pars and a 3.13 average score on par threes. Her round featured birdies on the first and third holes. Miller now has three rounds in the 70s in her rookie season.
 
Stonehill concluded the tournament in fifth place out of seven teams, improving by 13 strokes from the opening round with a total score of 657 (335-322). Indiana State claimed the team title with a total of 601 (300-301), 12 strokes ahead of host Purdue Fort Wayne (306-307=613). Illinois-Chicago (314-303=617) rounded out the top three, while Bryant (330-323=643) narrowly edged out the Skyhawks by four strokes to finish in fourth.
 
Indiana State's Briana Lemaire earned individual medalist honors with a four-over-par score of 148 (75-73), one shot ahead of Purdue Fort Wayne's Hunar Mittal (71-78=149), and two strokes clear of her teammate, Sophia Florek (75-75=150), who finished third.

  • Junior Jaelyn DeBoise finished the tournament 31st overall after registering a score of 169 (86-83).
  • Sophomores Kenna Roman and Carol Pignato finished within one shot of each other in 33rd and 34th place, respectively.
  • Roman finished 33rd with a combined score of 172 (87-85), while Pignato came through at the end of the 36-holes with a score of 173 (87-86).
