WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (April 12, 2025) – The Stonehill College women's golf team found themselves in the top half of the leaderboard after the first two rounds of golf at Northeast Conference Championships, placing fourth heading into tomorrow's final round at the Kingsmill Resort Plantation Course.
 
After tying for sixth at last year's NEC Championships, Stonehill has its sights set on the team's highest finish at the Division I level, ranking fourth out of 12 teams after two rounds of golf on Saturday, The Skyhawks and the 11 other NEC teams competed on the par 72, 6,083-yard Plantation Course at Kingsmill Resort.
 
Stonehill's squad combined to shoot +41 in the first round before improving by nine strokes in the second round, finishing the day 73 strokes over par. Saint Francis ranks third at +70, FDU is in second place at +45, and Howard sits atop the leaderboard at +41.
 
Sophomore Helen Brodahl (Portland, Ore.) led the Skyhawks while being tied for 12th out of 58 golfers, finishing the first round in 78 strokes (+6) before closing out the day with an 82-stroke (+10) performance in the second round. Classmate Kenna Roman (Berlin, Conn.) sits one stroke behind Brodahl in 17th place at +17 with two of the best rounds of her career, a +9 showing in the first round and a +8 in the second.
 
Freshman Zoe Miller (Hollywood, Northern Ireland) was the third-highest-ranked Skyhawk on the individual leaderboard, sitting in a tie for 19th place at +18, shooting an 83 (+11) in the opening round before improving by four strokes in the second round at 79 (+7). Junior Jaelyn DeBoise (Springfield, Mass.) had the biggest improvement from the first round to the second round of all the Skyhawks, going from a +15 first to a +7 second round for a +22 afternoon as she ranked 26th. DeBoise led the team with four birdies in the first round and three more birdies in the second.
