Brodahl Leads Women's Golf to Record Team Finish at NEC Championships

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (April 13, 2025) – Sophomore Helen Brodahl delivered a standout performance to lead the Stonehill College women's golf team to a program-best tie for fifth place at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship, held at the Kingsmill Resort's Plantation Course.

Brodahl capped a record-setting weekend by securing a top-10 individual finish, placing sixth overall — the highest individual result by a Skyhawk at the NEC Championship since Stonehill joined the league in 2022. Her three-round total of +18 included a two-over-par 74 on the final day, the lowest final-round score ever posted by a Stonehill golfer in a conference championship since the program's inception in 2017-18. It also marked Brodahl's second consecutive top-10 finish at the NEC Championship, following her tie for sixth last season.

Stonehill's fifth-place team finish is its best showing at the NEC Championship to date. The Skyhawks tied for second among all teams with 16 birdies across the three rounds and ranked fourth in par-3 scoring with an average of 3.53.

Sophomore Kenna Roman trailed Brodahl by just one stroke after two rounds and finished the tournament tied for 19th with a final round 83 (+11). First-year Zoe Miller placed third among Stonehill golfers and tied for 38th overall at +37.

Rounding out the Stonehill lineup were junior Jaelyn DeBoise at +38 and sophomore Carol Pignato at +51.

The Skyhawks posted a three-round team total of 984 (329-320-335, +120), finishing four strokes behind North Carolina Central (+116). FDU (927) claimed the team title by a single stroke over last year's runner-up, Howard University (928). Saint Francis (977) rounded out the top three.

FDU placed three golfers in the top four individually, but it was Howard's Paris Fielding who captured her first individual NEC Championship crown, finishing with a three-round total of +11 (74-76-77—227).
