PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 5, 2025) – Sophomore
Helen Brodahl (Portland, Ore.) shot a 71 (-1) in the second round of the Rutgers Invitational at the Rutgers University Golf Course on Saturday as the Stonehill College women's golf team finished day one in eighth place out of 17 teams.
17 Division I women's golf programs played two rounds of continuous golf on Saturday on a par 71, 6,023-yard course in Piscataway, N.J. Rutgers topped the leaderboard at the end of the day, shooting +14 in the first round and +9 in the second round for a combined score of +23. After shooting +40 as a team in the first round, Stonehill had one of the best team performances in the second round at +29 to move up to eighth place at +69.
Brodahl led the way for the Skyhawks as she topped the 89 golfers competing in the second round with three birdies and two bogeys to shoot one under par. She finished the day in fifth place overall at +8 after finishing the first round at +9.
Sophomore
Kenna Roman (Berlin, Conn.) finished both rounds at +9 as she ranked 44th on the leaderboard at +18 after the first day of competition. She had two birdies in each round as her total of four was the most on the team on Saturday.
Freshman
Zoe Miller (Hollywood, Northern Ireland) came in one stroke behind Roman at +19 for the day, placing 47th overall. She was nine over par in the first round before going 10 over par in the second round with one birdie on the day for an overall score of +19.
Senior
Mollie Thomas (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) shot a +28 on Saturday, going +13 in the first round and +15 in the second round while junior
Jaelyn DeBoise (Springfield, Mass.) was close behind at +30 on the day, improving on her first round by eight strokes with a +11 performances in the second.
