PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 6, 2025) – The Stonehill College women's golf team competed in the third and final round of the Rutgers Invitational at the Rutgers University Golf Course on Sunday, finishing in 10th place out of 17 teams on Sunday.
The Skyhawks combined for a team score of +33 in the third round after scores of +40 and +29 in the first two rounds yesterday. Their final score of +102 slotted them into a tie for 10th place with St. John's, while the host Scarlet Knights won by 30 strokes at +29. Seton Hall placed second at +59, and Dartmouth rounded out the top 3 at +61.
The 17 teams played three rounds of golf in two days on the par 71, 6,023-yard course in Piscataway, N.J. After finishing in fifth place out of 89 individual golfers yesterday, sophomore
Helen Brodahl (Portland, Ore.) used another great round of golf to cement her spot in fifth place in the final standings. Brodahl finished the third round in 75 strokes (+4), highlighted by two birdies to finish the weekend at +12 overall.
Freshman
Zoe Miller (Hollywood, Northern Ireland) and sophomore
Kenna Roman (Berlin, Conn.) found themselves tied for 47th place after three rounds of golf at +26 for the weekend. Miller had her best round of the weekend as she shot a 78 (+7), matching Brodahl's team-high of two birdies on Sunday. Roman shot a 79 this afternoon (+8) after finishing at +9 in the first two rounds yesterday for her best performance of the weekend.
Senior
Mollie Thomas (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) finished the weekend at +42 after shooting an 85 (+14) today, while junior
Jaelyn DeBoise (Springfield, Mass.) closed out the weekend with a combined total of +53.
