HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first, Jordan Irvine forced a fumble by Maine's Carter Peevy, and Richard Mosley III pounced on it to secure a fumble recovery for the second-straight game. On the ensuing Stonehill drive, Domenic Scalese booted a 34-yard field goal to give the Skyhawks a 3-0 edge with 3:56 remaining in the first quarter.

Stonehill held the 3-0 lead until late in the second when Molayo Irefin pushed his way into the endzone for a 1-yard TD rush for the Black Bears, putting Maine on top, 7-3, at 2:20. Scalese buried his second field goal of the half on the ensuing Stonehill drive, this time a 25-yarder, as Maine led, 7-6, at the break.

With 2:19 to play in the third, Maine added a 22-yard field goal off the foot of Samuel Tremblay to make it a 10-6 contest.

The score remained until Stonehill's final possession. On 4th down and 21 and the game on the line, O'Connell moved to his right and uncorked a deep pass into the endzone, finding a wide open Dunphy for a 34-yard touchdown, giving the Skyhawks a 13-10 advantage. Stonehill's defense held Maine on the final drive of the game to clinch its first victory of the season.
