HAVERHILL, Mass. – Freshman
Hanley Correia fired a one-under 71 on the second day of the Merrimack Invitational on Tuesday to guide the Stonehill women's golf team to third place with a three-round total of 914 (310-308-296).
The Skyhawks trailed Boston University, who won the tournament with a 902 (303-302-297), while host Merrimack finished second with team score of 908 (310-308-290).
Correia turned in a scorecard of a 71, which included five birdies and three of them coming on the back nine. Fellow freshman
Georgia Beland fired a score of 75 along with senior
Kenna Roman and freshman
Lenna Persson. Senior
Helen Brodahl rounded out the Skyhawks with a 77.
Freshman
Champa Visetsin led Stonehill's B-team carding a 76, while sophomore
Molly MacDonald followed with a 78.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- The five players on the Stonehill A-team all birdied the 17th hole.
