High School: 2013graduate of Duxbury High School. Three-year letterwinner for coachDave Maimaron, serving as captain his senior year. Alsocaptained his freshman team. Helped lead the Dragons to a 37-1record over his three years on the varsity team. Earned BostonGlobe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic honors and wasnamed the ESPN Boston Defensive Player of the Year and All-Stateteam his senior year. Was a two-time Patriot League All-Star. Alsolettered in lacrosse.

Personal:Born October 9, 1994, in Weymouth, Mass. Son of Elwin and LauraMcCarthy of Duxbury, Mass. Has a brother, Elwin, Jr. (24) and twosisters, Hannah (22) and Margaret (17). Undecided on academicmajor. Chose Stonehill because of its location and combination ofacademics and athletics. Enjoys mountain climbing. Supports the NewEngland Patriots.
