2014: NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for spring semester. Played all 11 games, making an impact on both kickoff and punt return coverage teams as a true freshman. Posted 20 tackles (13 solo) with a team-high two forced fumbles. Led the team with his 20 special teams tackles, including a team-best ten on punt coverage. Registered 16 tackles (11 solo) and two forced fumbles in nine NE-10 games. Posted six stops (five solo), with a forced fumble in four September games. Contributed eight tackles (four solo) and a forced fumble in three November games. Totaled 12 tackles (seven solo) and a forced fumble in six games played on the road. Made his collegiate debut against #25 Bloomsburg (9/6), chipping in with a tackle assist. Registered two solo stops, including a forced fumble, in win at Bentley (9/12). Posted a season-high three solo tackles in win over Merrimack (9/27). Matched that season-best with three tackles (two assists) in win at Saint Anselm (11/1). High School: 2014 graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School. Four year letterwinner for coach Dave Woods, starting at linebacker, quarterback, wide receiver and safety. Earned Scholastic Player of the Year honors from the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Salem News and Lynn Daily Item as a senior when he helped lead the Crusaders to a 13-0 record and MIAA Division 5 State Championship. Named to the All-State "Super 26" Team. Set a school record with 221 tackles his senior season. Massachusetts Shriner's Bowl Game participant and was named captain. Earned All-Scholastic honors from the Lynn Daily Item and Salem News as a junior and senior. Also a two-time Central Catholic League All-Star, earning league MVP honors his senior year. Also lettered in baseball, earning League MVP honors.
Personal: Born July 29, 1996, in Salem, Massachusetts. Son of Steve and Dina Bona of Peabody, Massachusetts. Has a brother, Joseph (23), and sister, Stephanie (17). Majoring in criminology. Chose Stonehill because of the beautiful campus and football coaching staff. Supports the New England Patriots. Lists Tyrann Mathieu as a favorite athlete.
