Anthony Tokarz returns to the Stonehill football coaching staff for the 2016 season where he will be the passing game and recruiting coordinator, while also serving as position coach for the Skyhawks quarterbacks.
Tokarz rejoins the coaching staff at Stonehill, where he was the wide receivers and quarterbacks coach for the 2013 season, after gaining coaching experience at the NCAA Division I FBS and FCS levels for the last two seasons. He was a member of coach Justin Fuente's staff at the University of Memphis as a graduate assistant for the 2015 season and defensive intern in 2014. Tokarz was part of a Tigers team which made a pair of bowl appearances and captured the American Athletic Conference Championship in 2014. As graduate assistant in 2015 under now Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Brad Cornelsen, Tokarz coached the quarterbacks as receivers, while assisting the cornerbacks coach in 2014. He coached Tigers QB Paxton Lynch, a first team All-AAC selection and cornerback Bobby McCain, a fifth round draft pick of the Miami Dolphins at Memphis.
Prior to returning to Stonehill, Tokarz was wide receivers coach at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, this spring. He was a member of a coaching staff at Stonehill which guided the Skyhawks to a share of the 2013 Northeast-10 Conference Championship. Tokarz coached the wide receivers and quarterbacks, including Nate Robitaille, '15, a first team All-NE-10 receiver, running meetings for both position groups as well as conducting practice and game plans.
Prior to his first stint on the Stonehill sidelines, Tokarz spent one season as wide receivers coach at Anna Maria College. He also assisted the team with its strength and conditioning program and was also film coordinator. Tokarz aided the offensive coordinator with weekly pass game planning, was responsible for calling defensive fronts, blitz and coverage from the coaching box on game day. He was in charge of postgame and weekly film exchange with opposing teams and implemented a strength and speed program for the team. Tokarz coached a first team All-Eastern College Football Conference (ECFC) wide receiver and tight end during his season with the program.
Tokarz has gained valuable recruiting contacts in Tennessee, Texas, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Southern California, Connecticut and New York over his coaching career.
Tokarz is a 2012 graduate of Worcester State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He as a three year starting quarterback for the Lancers football team and was named a Stephen "Merc" Morris first team All-Worcester selection and a first team All-New England Football Conference honoree following his senior season. Tokarz also earned Worcester State's Bob Devlin Outstanding Senior Male Athlete Award, leading the Lancers to the ECAC Northwest Bowl and was team captain as a senior.
