Eddie Jewel is entering his first season as assistant football coach at Stonehill College. He will serve as defensive backs coach for the 2016 season.

Jewel comes to Stonehill after serving as defensive backs coach at his alma mater, Bridgewater State University for the 2015 season. In addition to coaching the defensive backs, he coached special teams with the Bears punt and kick returners. Jewel mentored a defensive backs unit which helped BSU post a 7-4 record by yielding only 235.2 passing yards per game with 15 interceptions after allowing 259.9 yards per game with only five interceptions during the 2014 season for a 4-6 mark. He coached two All-Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) performers as the Bears reached the ECAC Legacy Bowl.

Jewel joined the coaching staff following graduation after gaining experience as a student assistant during his senior year. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in communications from Bridgewater State in 2015 after transferring from Monmouth University following his sophomore year. He served as team captain at Bridgewater State and was a three-time All-MASCAC selection, being named a preseason All-American prior to the 2013 season.

Jewel currently resides in Wrentham, Massachusetts.
