Steve Fitzgeraldenters his fifth year as an assistant coach of the Stonehill men'sand women's track and field programs. He coaches sprint and relayevents including the 100m, 200m, and 400m dashes, and the 4x100mand 4x400m relays.
In his first three seasons on thetrack & field staff, Fitzgerald coached one All-American -Nathan Morse, Distance Medley Relay - guiding 16student-athletes to school records, nine to All-New Englandperformances and four student-athletes to Northeast-10 Conferencechampionships.
A USATF Level 1 certified coach,Fitzgerald previously coached for five years at Weymouth HighSchool. As the Head Boys' Track & Field Coach in 2009-10, heled the outdoor team to a 7-0 record and Weymouth's first Bay StateLeague title in 13 years, and was elected the Bay State LeagueCoach of the Year. On their way to the conference title, theWildcats snapped Newton North's ten-year unbeaten streak spanningmore than 150 meets.
In four years as an assistant coachat Weymouth, Fitzgerald designed all workouts for sprinters andjumpers, and was responsible for overseeing all sprinters, longjumpers, triple jumpers, and relays. Overall, his athletes brokemore than 20 school records and two Bay State League records.
Fitzgerald is in his fifth yearoverall in the athletics department at Stonehill, where hecurrently serves as Assistant Director of Athletics forOperations.
