Stonehill College

Matt Nelson was named the athletics video production coordinator at Stonehill in August, 2022. He manages the live streaming efforts for the athletic department via SkyhawksVision on NEC Front Row, serving as a liaison in that capacity between the athletic communications office and the NEC. He is also responsible for coordinating video features and projects for the promotion of the 23 athletic programs via the athletics website and social media outlets.

Matt is a dedicated media professional with over 15 years of experience in video production, sports broadcasting, and community media. Since 2020, Matt has also served as Access Operations Coordinator and Sports Director at Abington Community Access & Media, managing staff, interns, and award winning high school sports coverage while producing civic programming and training community volunteers.

Previously, Matt held leadership roles at Lowell Telemedia Center and Brockton Community Access, producing municipal meetings, community events, news, and live sports content. His deep-rooted experience in local media has helped strengthen community connections through storytelling and transparent public coverage.

In 2016, Matt completed a highly immersive remote production internship with New England Sports Network (NESN) during the Boston Bruins season. There, he gained hands-on experience supporting live NHL broadcasts by assisting with pregame equipment setup, operating the on-screen score graphic, and logging key plays for live and postgame use using EVS replay systems. He also worked alongside ENG photographers, helping capture and frame broadcast-ready footage both inside the arena and on location. Matt extended his contributions to NESN’s Pawtucket Red Sox coverage, providing graphics operations and technical support during minor league baseball broadcasts. This experience solidified his passion for live sports production and sharpened his broadcast operations skills.

Matt studied Media Communications at Massasoit Community College and is passionate about using media to connect communities and tell impactful stories.
