Manchester, N.H. - Southern New Hampshire's
Matt Delaney scored minutes before the half ended with a header off
a corner kick, pushing the host Penmen past Stonehill,
2-0 at Larkin Field on Wednesday night.
The Skyhawks were held to seven shots, including being outshot
9-1 in the first half. Stonehill had its best scoring chance early
in the second half when junior Richard Carvalho
(Hollis, N.H.) missed high with a direct kick. Then soon
afterwards, sophomore Shaun Keeley (Woburn, Mass.)
missed with a header over the top.
The Penmen's Paulson Edum found the back of the net with just
over 14 minutes to play, connecting after a corner kick.
Danny Kerl (Massapequa, N.Y.), who made his
second straight start in goal, turned away six shots.
Stonehill, now 2-3 and 0-3 in Northeast-10 action, returns to
action on Saturday when they travel to the Merrimack Invitational
to take on Post University at 12 noon.
