Panthers Put The Clamps on Stonehill

Garden City, N.Y. -Adelphi's strong defense and
potent offense were too much for the Skyhawks as they beat
Stonehill 3-0, for their fifth shutout in six games.
Panther junior Caitlin Morrison's solo shot at 25:54
put the Panthers up midway through the first half.
Adelphi's second goal came in the 43rd minute when Panther Annie
Braseth slid a pass to senior Amanda Herrera who chipped
it into the left corner of the net.
The Panther offense riddled the Skyhawks with a 14-5 shot
advantage in the first stanza which included a 4-2 corner kick
advantage.
Stonehill was unable to penetrate the Adelphi defense in the
second half as well, managing just two shots in the period.
In the 72nd minute the Panthers extended their lead, as Emily
Dunne scored on a cross from sophomore Brianne McDonnell.
Marissa Bramwell (Norton, Mass.) had 11 saves
in net for the Skyhawks, who managed just three shots on
goal. The loss drops Stonehill to 4-7-1.
The Skyhawks return to action on Monday when they travel to take
on Merrimack at 1:00 pm.
