28, 2009) - Stonehill College, ranked ninth in this week's
National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas
Division II poll, closed out the regular season with a 1-1
double-overtime draw at Saint Michael's College in Northeast-10
Conference women's soccer action at Duffy Field this afternoon.
Stonehill (10-7-1, 8-6-1 NE-10)
will be the sixth seed in next week's Northeast-10 Tournament and
will open with a quarterfinal matchup at third-seeded and No.
23-ranked University of Massachusetts Lowell (11-4-3, 10-3-2 NE-10)
on Sunday. Match times will be announced on Thursday. Saint
Michael's closes out its season with a 4-11-3 record overall, 3-9-3
in the Northeast-10.
Sophomore Kelsey Mahoney dished her Conference-leading
tenth assist of the season - just one shy of the program
record.

Junior Kirstie St. Martin
(Providence, R.I./Mount Saint Charles Academy) netted the
equalizer on sophomore Kelsey Mahoney's (Rehoboth,
Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth) Conference-leading tenth assist of
the season just 1:13 into the second half. It marks the seventh
match over the Skyhawks last eight that Mahoney has notched at
least a point and her ten assists are just one shy of the
single-season program mark of 11 set by Becky Bartlett in 1995. St.
Martin's 14 goals so far have matched the third-highest
single-season total in program history.
Junior Jenn Senecal
(Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth) scored for Saint Michael's when
she took a pass from freshman Cassie Crockett (Gilmanton,
N.H./Gilford) and netted her fourth of the season at
31:38.
Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah
Hickey (Lee, Mass./Lee) made six saves (four in the first
half) to preserve the draw for Stonehill. Sophomore
Brittany Cocozza (Cranston, R.I./East Greenwich)
made two saves in a scoreless first half of play before giving way
to classmate Ashleigh Adams (Milton, Vt./Milton)
who stopped six shots over the final 65-minutes.
Stonehill finished with a 16-12
advantage in shots for the match, including an 11-6 margin after
halftime.
