Skyhawks Shut Out By Assumption 3-0

Worcester, Mass. - The Skyhawks were shut out
for just the second time this season, this one a 3-0 contest
against Assumption as they dropped their second straight following
their five game winning streak.
The Greyhounds got on the board early, as Taylor Larson scored
just 3:28 into the contest. Joe Frasso gave Assumption a two
goal lead they wouldn't relinquish just six minutes later, on
assists by Joshua Boissoneau and Peter Bouchie.
Stonehill outshot Assumption 20-11 in the period but the
Skyhawks couldn't get one by Nick Blanchette and ended the
period down two scores.
In the second, Patrick Fitzgibbons added another goal and
Blanchette continued to turn away Stonehill, who doubled up
Greyhounds shot total, 18-9.
The first 10 minutes of the period saw little action, however
the Skyhawks went on a power play with just over 14 minutes left,
but were unable to score with the one man advantage.
Stonehill continued to pressure Assumption, but were unable to
get one in net, despite firing nine shots on goal during the
period.
Mike Manna (Framingham, Mass.) made 24 stops in
net for the Skyhawks, who outshot the Greyhounds 47-27 for the
game.
With the loss, Stonehill drops to 5-9 on the season and 0-2 in
the NE-10. The Skyhawks return to action on Tuesday when they play
host to Framingham with gametime set for 7:00 p.m.
