MANCHESTER, N.H. (September
12, 2009) - Stonehill College, ranked fourth in this
week's Kookaburra/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA)
Division II poll, came from behind to claim a 2-1 overtime victory
against Saint Anselm College in a non-conference field hockey
matchup this afternoon.
Junior Lindsay Pinkham
(Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan Area) scored the deciding goal
off Stonehill's last of an incredible 37 penalty corners for the
day, nine in the first 15-minute overtime session alone, after time
had expired for her first goal of the season. Junior
Courtney Foley (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield
Memorial) forced overtime with her second goal in as many
matches (fourth of the season), assisted by senior
Stephanie Kott (Rutland, Mass./Notre Dame
Academy), after a sequence of seven-straight penalty
corners for the Skyhawks with 3:03 left in regulation.
Junior Courtney Foley forced overtime with her fourth goal
of the season with 3:03 left in regulation.

Stonehill finished with a 37-2
advantage in penalty corners for the contest, which resulted in a
40-5 bulge in shots. Saint Anselm freshman goalkeeper
Lindsay McDonald (Dedham, Mass./Dedham) recorded
20 saves for the Hawks - 15 after halftime. Junior Courtney
Osier (South Dennis, Mass./Dennis-Yarmouth) finished with
three stops in goal for Stonehill.
After a scoreless first half, Saint
Anselm opened the scoring 10:52 into the second when sophomore
Morgan Seney (Bow, N.H./Bow) netted her first goal
of the season with assists from freshman Maura Hurley
(Holden, Mass./Notre Dame Academy) and senior
Maddie Cantarow (Norwood, Mass./Norwood) off a
corner.
Stonehill (5-2, 0-0 NE-10) is back
in action on Wednesday night when it opens a three-game home stand
against Southern Connecticut State University at 7 p.m. Saint
Anselm (0-5, 0-0 NE-10) hosts Franklin Pierce University on
Wednesday at 4 p.m.
