PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. (October 15, 2010) –
The Stonehill College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision
(28-30, 20-25, 19-25) to host Pace University in a Northeast-10
Conference match on Friday.
Junior Laura
Huselton (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) led the Skyhawks
with a double-double, posting a game-high 12 kills and 13 digs, but
Stonehill was unable to recover from an early 1-0 deficit after
being edged 30-28 in the opening set. Freshman Sydney Maxey
(Hutto, Texas/Hutto) recorded eight kills and 15 digs, and
senior Erin Johnson
(Centerville, Mass./Barnstable) hit a team-high .280 on
the night.
The Setters were powered by 11 kills from senior Victoria
Pompilus (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Mount Vernon), who posted a .400
hitting percentage and added three block assists. Sophomore Nora
Rugova (Mt. Kisco, N.Y./Fox Lane) added a supporting eight kills
and 11 digs, and sophomore Elyse Rowland (Antioch, Calif./Deer
Valley) collected a game-high 19 digs.
Stonehill (8-9, 6-2 NE-10) visits Adelphi University tomorrow at
1 p.m. Pace (14-6, 6-2 NE-10) hosts Bentley University tomorrow at
noon.
