SYRACUSE, New York (October 29, 2019) – The Stonehill College men's soccer team fell in a 2-1 Northeast-10 Conference match to Le Moyne College Tuesday afternoon on Ted Grant Field.
By the Numbers
- Stonehill (4-9-1, 2-6-1 NE10) saw Brandon Carroll with his second goal of the season, while Andrew Hammersley tallied his first-career assist and registered eight saves.
- Le Moyne College (10-3-1, 8-2 NE10) saw Tom Henne and Joe Falcone with the goals, while Falcone also recorded the assist on Henne's goal.
How it Happened:
- Le Moyne's first shot came from Goran Naric that was sent high and center between the posts as Hammersley made his first save of the match at 4:50.
- Stonehill saw its first shot at nine minutes, as Carroll struck the ball at the right post, following a free kick from the Skyhawks at 8:26.
- Following a goal kick by the Skyhawks in the 20th minute of action, Falcone sent a cross from the left slot to Henne who headed it home from inside the six-yard box for a 1-0 lead at 19:40.
- In the 31st minute of play, Hammersley got off a deep kick and Carroll split defenders, as he was able to breakaway and send a low shot from the top of the penalty box at 30:18.
- At the conclusion of the first half, the Dolphins saw a total of six corners, while they were called for 10 fouls and the Skyhawks were only called for four.
- The Dolphins saw a free kick just outside the 18-yard box as Robert Rohrhirsch missed as the ball sailed high over the crossbar in the 78th minute and Le Moyne responded with another drive down the field with a shot saved by Hammersley from Rohrhirsch in the 79th minute of play.
- In the 80th minute, Falcone was able to drive the ball about 10 yards before finding the back left post as the ball just breezed off Hammersley's gloves for their second lead of the game, 2-1, at 79:31.
