EASTON, Mass. (October 6, 2021) - Stonehill College staked out a two-goal lead in the first half and made it stand over the final 45 to claim a 2-1 victory over rival Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer action at Skyhawk Field this afternoon.

The Details
- Junior Andrew Hammersley protected the Stonehill lead by making all six of his saves in the second half as Bentley outshot the Skyhawks 12-3 over the final 45 to finish with a 19-8 advantage for the contest.
- Freshman Iago Luiz De Sousa-Vieira opened the scoring in the 27th minute when sophomore Zach Davis fed him into open space down the right channel. De Sousa-Vieira took a touch and then fired his team and NE10-leading eighth goal of the season into the left side of the net.
- Stonehill doubled its lead in the 39th minute when freshman Colby Meyer headed in a corner kick from the right side by sophomore Shon Ryan at the far post for his second goal of the season just moments after entering the match as a substitute.
- Bentley pulled a goal back in the 56th minute as freshman Johann Fraser poked in a loose ball at the far post off a corner kick from postgrad TJ Walker for his first career goal.
- Senior Marcus Foehr finished with one save in the Bentley goal.
