How it Happened

  • Stonehill jumped out to a 10-4 lead after a three-pointer from fifth-year Shamir Johnson heading into the first media timeout, but after nearly three scoreless minutes, Eastern Nazarene was back within four (10-6) after a White layup six minutes into the game.

  • Sims scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half, reaching double figures in his 14th-straight game played (PHOTO BY Brian Foley)
Stonehill took over from there, scoring the next 14 points, including eight by Zegarowski, to open an 18-point lead (24-6) after a three-point play from the Skyhawks postgrad with 11-minutes left in the half.
  • Stonehill closed the half with a 17-4 run, keyed by a trio of triples by Zegarowski and another long-range shot by fifth-year Josh Mack, to carry a 31-point lead (50-19) into halftime.
  • Eastern Nazarene trimmed the deficit inside 30 points twice after a White fastbreak layup and McGuiness three-pointer, over the first three and a half minutes of the second half, but Stonehill used an 11-1 spurt to extend the lead to 38 (66-28) after Zegarowski's sixth three of the night with 12:16 to play.
  • The Skyhawks lead wouldn't dip lower than 35 the rest of the way, extending to as much as 48 down the stretch before settling on the final margin.
