BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (December 3, 2023) – The Stonehill College men's ice hockey team dropped a tough 4-1 decision at home against Brown University on Sunday. With the loss, the Skyhawks fall to 0-16 overall, while the Bears improve to 4-6-1 on the season.
Highlights

How it Happened
- Stonehill came out of the gates strong, scoring the game's opening goal 19 seconds into the contest off a backhand shot from Ireland into the back of the net.
- Meilun and the Skyhawks defense would hold on throughout the first period to take a slim one-goal advantage into the opening break.
- However, Brown would respond in the middle frame, dominating offensive possession and outshooting the Skyhawks 15-5 in the second period.
- The Bears would find the back of the net twice in the second after Traggio, and Bottrill lit the lamp for their first goals to give Brown a 2-1 lead heading into the second intermission.
- After a back-and-forth start to the third period, the Bears would extend their lead to 3-1 at the 12:05 mark after Bliss sent a shot on goal from the end line that sneaked through the pads of Meilun and into the back of the cage.
- With less than 10 seconds to play in regulation, Bliss would send a 200-foot shot down the ice and into the empty net for Stonehill to cap off the scoring and seal the 4-1 victory for the Bears.
