How it Happened
- RPI would strike first at the 15:23 mark of the opening period as a breakout pass from junior Audrey McCutcheon found the stick of Christof who scored on the backhand on a partial breakaway for the games opening goal.
- Hardy doubled the Engineers lead just over halfway through the opening frame when she deked through defenders and found the back of the net for her first goal of the season.
- Just five minutes later at 4:01, Kaiser rang a shot off the iron and into the netting to extend the RPI advantage to 3-0 heading into the break.
- The Engineers wasted little time in the second period getting back to their offensive pressure, scoring at the 18:38 mark of the middle frame after Bailey lifted a shot over the right shoulder of Stone.
- RPI went on to score its first shorthanded goal of the season off the stick of Christof for her second goal of the game, while Kaiser and Jahnke capped off the scoring for the Engineers in the third.
- Stonehill nearly pulled one goal back at the 4:10 mark of the third and final period, after Petford intercepted a pass in the neutral zone shorthanded and went on the break. However, Keating would stop the Skyhawks best scoring opportunity and seal the 7-0 victory for the Engineers.
