HAMDEN, Conn. (September 4, 2023) – Quinnipiac University pulled away in the second half to secure a 5-0 victory over Stonehill College in a non-conference women's soccer matchup this afternoon.

Graduate student Markela Bejleri, senior Courtney Chochol, and junior Talie Lyon each scored a goal and dished out at least one assist.

Sophomore Madison Alves and junior Ana Carlos added goals, while sophomore Milena Branco tallied her first assist of season.

Senior Sofia Lospinoso faced five shot attempts in net for the Bobcats.

Senior Emmy Dumaresq registered a team-high two shot attempts on the afternoon.

Quinnipiac broke through for the opening goal in the 25th minute of the contest off a strike from Bejleri.

The Bobcats opened the game up in the second half, with Chochol and Alves scoring two goals in a 40-second span to extend the Quinnipiac lead to 3-0.

Following the pair of goals in the 63rd minute, Lyon would net the fourth goal of the contest in the 71st minute, before Carlos capped off the scoring in the 82nd off a pass from Branco.

The Bobcats advantage grew too much for the Skyhawks to overcome, eventually falling by a final score of 5-0.
Stonehill (0-4-1, 0-0-0 NEC) is right back in action here at Skyhawk Field on Thursday as it hosts Bryant University at 4 p.m. Quinnipiac (2-2-, 0-0-0 MAAC) visits Niagara University on Saturday at 12 p.m.
