EASTON, Mass. (September 4, 2023) – Five Skyhawks found the back of the net this afternoon as the Stonehill College men's soccer team erupted for five second half goals to earn the 6-1 victory over Niagara University.

Highlights 
 
- 
Monday marked the first time that the Skyhawks would score six goals in a single game since defeating Saint Anselm, 6-2, back on October 30, 2015.  
- 
Junior Colby Meyer and first year Tiago Bittencourt finished the game with second half braces.   
- 
Senior captain Jacob Woznicki and junior Colin Milliken each recorded a goal and an assist on the afternoon.  
- 
First-year student Derek Jaramilo dished out his first career assist on a corner kick attempt in the second half.   
- 
Senior goalkeeper Carlos Dias Neto finished with four saves, including a penalty kick save, in going the full 90 minutes in goal for Stonehill.

How it Happened

Niagara scored its lone goal of the contest on a penalty kick attempt in the 21st minute off the foot of Barnes to tie the game up at 1-1.  
- 
Coming out for second half action tied up at one apiece, Stonehill scored early and often as Lima-Bittencourt found the back of the net off a pass from Woznicki in the 52nd minute to give the Skyhawks back the lead.   
- 
Woznicki kept his solid game going, scoring a goal of his own just four minutes later and extending the Stonehill advantage to 3-1.  
- 
Continuing to pour on the offense in the second half, Lima-Bittencourt netted his second goal of the game and second of his young career in the 63rd minute.  
- 
The biggest moment on the defensive end of the field came in the 76th minute when Dias Neto dove to his right to stop a Purple Eagle penalty kick attempt.  
- 
Meyer would cap off the Skyhawks scoring with a header off a corner kick from Jaramilo in the 77th minute before netting his second of the contest on an unassisted strike in the 84th minute.   
 
 
Stonehill (1-1-2, 0-0-0 NEC) returns to action on Saturday when it hosts the University of Saint Thomas (Minn.) for a non-conference matchup at 12 p.m. on Skyhawk Field. Niagara (0-3-1, 0-0-0 MAAC) returns to action on Saturday, hosting Duquesne in a non-conference game at 7 p.m.
