Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. (January 13, 2024) – The Stonehill College women's ice hockey team dropped its series finale to conference opponent Assumption University, 5-2, Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Skyhawks dip to 11-13 overall and 11-7 in NEWHA play, while the Greyhounds improve to 7-16-1 overall and 7-10-1 against conference opponents.

How it Happened
- Both teams came out of the gates even to start the contest, with the two sides registering eight and ten shot attempts, respectively, over the first 10 minutes of the conference matchup.
- The Greyhounds, however, would find the back of the net first at the 10:41 mark when Agerter scored her second of the season on a wrap-around goal.
- Assumption extended its lead to 2-0 after Rago lit the lamp on an unassisted goal in the final minute of the opening frame.
- After a back-and-forth start to the second, Stonehill would reach the scoresheet at the 13:22 mark of the frame after Achtyl stuffed the puck past Weiser in goal for her eighth goal of the season, cutting the deficit in half for the Skyhawks.
- The Greyhounds would regain their two-goal advantage, scoring with just 33 seconds left in the second, to take a 3-1 lead into the third period.
- Assumption extended its lead halfway through the third after Corso buried her first career goal.
- Stonehill wasted little time responding to the Greyhounds goal in the third, as Achtyl netted her second of the game less than 30 seconds after Corso's lamp lighter at the 9:38 mark of the third, bringing the score to 4-2.
- Assumption would cap off the scoring and seal its 5-2 victory, scoring an empty-net goal off Hanrahan's stick in the game's final seconds.
Noteworthy
- After Achtyl's two-goal outing, she now leads the team with nine goals on the season.
- Sophomore Alexis Petford and Achtyl finished the contest with a game-high seven shots on goal each for Stonehill.
- Assumption outshot (29-26) and won the faceoff battle (25-19) over the Skyhawks.
