FOX/ABC BANGOR: "Androlewicz returning to Alfond with Skyhawks after four years at Maine"

ORONO, Maine (December 6, 2024) - When No. 5 Maine hockey takes the ice at Alfond Arena this weekend to host Stonehill College, they'll be welcoming back a familiar face.

Goaltender Connor Androlewicz is making his return to Orono after spending five years as a back-up goalie for the Black Bears. Androlewicz played behind two talented netminders in Victor Ostman and Albin Boija last season. This year, he's been the main goalie for the Skyhawks, with six wins and one shutout in fourteen starts for them.

For some reason, Androlewicz says he's actually excited to play at Alfond Arena as a visiting goalie- something that probably isn't said too often.

"It's going to be hostile. It's going to be hostile, but I love it," Androlewicz says. "I think it's going to be great. It'll be cool to be on the other side of it, so it'll be definitely unique and I'm just excited to get up there and play."

"He knows this place well. He knows our team well, so he's going to have an insight of what we're trying to do, obviously, and he is playing great, so it's great to see him get an opportunity," says head coach Ben Barr. "This is going to be a fun thing for him. And he's going to look to come in here and take it to his old team."
