PROVIDENCE, R.I. (December 7, 2024) - The Stonehill College women's track and field team began its indoor season at the Olney-Margolies Athletic Center as the team competed in the 38th Annual Alden Invitational hosted by Brown University.
The Skyhawks totaled 52.5 points to come in fifth place out of seven teams at Saturday's meet. Brown secured first place at their home opener meet with 148 points, while Holy Cross came in second place with 117.5. New Hampshire came in third place with a total of 82.5 points.
FIELD EVENTS
- Freshman Hannah Santos (Swansea, Mass.) placed second in her collegiate high jump debut, clearing a mark of 1.61m (5' 3.25").
- Freshman Mollie Osgood (Wilmington, Mass.) reached a height of 1.51m (4' 11.5"), placing sixth in her high jump debut.
- Sophomore Kayla Oakes (Kingston, N.Y.) came in 11th place in the long jump, reaching 5.21m (17' 1.25"), while junior Kaia Eder (Moorestown, N.J.) finished in 12th as she reached 5.21m (16' 11.25").
- Graduate student Lois Jones (London, England), the lone transfer for the Skyhawks from Bryant University, made her Stonehill debut as she placed third in the pole vault with a height of 3.55m (11' 7.75").
- Sophomore Morgan Correia (Fall River, Mass.) competed in just the second meet of her collegiate career (last year's Alden Invitational), finishing with a new PR of 3.55m (11' 7.75") in the pole vault as she placed sixth.
- Freshman Makenna Dube (North Andover, Mass.) made her collegiate debut in the shot put, placing 10th with a toss of 10.10m (33' 1.75").
RUNNING EVENTS
- Senior Madison Rousseau (Canton, Mass.) placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles finals with a time of 8.98 seconds.
- After earning NEC Cross Country All-Conference honors in the fall, junior Jordan Malloy (Colchester, Conn.) picked up where she left off, placing second in the mile race with a time of 5:09.06. Malloy also placed second in the 3000-meter race with a time of 10:27.54.
- Freshman Emmy Belvin (Chepachet, R.I.) made her indoor track debut, clocking in at 5:21.72 in the mile race as she came in eighth place.
- Sophomore Anna Casey (Medford, Mass.) ran in her first indoor mile, placing 12th with a time of 5:28.68.
- Graduate student Kaytlin Encarnacao (Reading, Mass.) competed in her first-ever 300-meter race, placing seventh as she notched a time of 41.17 seconds.
- Sophomore Madison Stott (Dartmouth, Mass.) also competed in the 300m race, placing 15th with a time of 42.72 seconds.
- Sophomore Iasmim De Sousa Vieira (Medford, Mass.), freshman Mallory Hildreth (Pittsford, N.Y.), and sophomore Kellie Harrington (Pittsfield, Mass.) finished consecutively in the 3000m race, placing seventh, eighth, and ninth with times of 10:54.48, 10:54.67, and 10:56.48.
