How it Happened
Bryant opened the scoring and took a one-goal lead in the second minute of play when Warn sent a left-footed chip shot from just outside the 18-yard box over a leaping Bello in the net.
Stonehill narrowly answered the Bulldog's opening score in the fifth minute when sophomore
Lindsey Brown sent a pass from the Skyhawks defensive third of the pitch up to a racing Cassidy. Despite the offensive opportunity, Bryant's back-line stifled the scoring chance, thus holding Stonehill off the scoreboard.
At the 11:36 mark, Bryant looked to double its advantage on the board. However, graduate student
Kara Moore came up clutch inside the six-yard goal area to block a shot bound for the back of the net, keeping the Skyhawks' deficit at one. Just minutes later, a pair of goals from Collins and Koons at the respective 13:30 and 17:56 marks of the opening half would give the Bulldogs a commanding 3-0 lead.
In the waning minutes of the first half, Stonehill began to apply sustained offensive pressure, highlighted by Lord's trio of quality shot attempts. Despite the offensive zone time, the Skyhawks were held scoreless after the opening 45 minutes of play and headed into the break trailing the Bulldogs, 3-0.
In the second half of action, Bryant's offensive attack picked up where it left off, netting a pair of goals at the 68:15 and 73:24 marks. Finding the back of the net in the second half for the Bulldogs were Quill and Zaslaw, who each registered their first collegiate goals respectively.
With around 15 remaining in the non-conference meeting, Caso and Lord rifled a pair of shots just over the crossbar, narrowly cutting into the commanding Bryant lead. Despite the effort over 90 minutes of play, the Skyhawks would be held off the board, eventually falling to the Bulldogs by a final score of 5-0.
