BOSTON, Mass. (January 25, 2025) - The Stonehill College women's track and field team saw multiple Skyhawks climb into top spots in the Northeast Conference rankings at the River Hawk Invitational hosted by UMass Lowell at the TRACK at New Balance.
FIELD EVENTS
- Graduate student Lois Jones (London, England) matched her season-best mark of 3.55m (11' 7.75") in the pole vault, placing sixth while remaining tied for the top spot on the NEC leaderboard in the event this season.
- Graduate student Abigail Larsson (Bayport, N.Y.) had her second-best performance in the pole vault of the indoor season, tying for 10th as she reached a height of 3.40m (11' 1.75").
- Freshman Kendall Barton (Concord, N.H.) tied for 19th in the pole vault as she matched her personal record of 3.25m (10'8").
- In the triple jump, junior Kaia Eder (Moorestown, N.J.) led Stonehill, placing 11th with a leap of 10.80m (35' 5.25").
TRACK EVENTS
- Recording her second-best time of the season in the 60-meter hurdles was senior Madison Rousseau (Canton, Mass.), who placed 10th in the preliminary race with a time of 9.01 seconds. While Rousseau already ranks second in the NEC in the event with a time of 8.98 seconds, her Saturday performance is the third-best in the conference.
- Rousseau also competed in the 200-meter dash open, placing 12th with the seventh-fastest time in the NEC at 25.96 seconds, a new PR for the senior.
- Freshman Mallory Hildreth (Pittsfield, Mass.) set a personal record in the mile run, crossing the finish line at 5:15.36, which ranks eighth in the NEC and second among first-years in the conference.
- Graduate student Kaytlin Encarnacao (Reading, Mass.) ran in her first 400-meter dash of the indoor season, placing eighth as she finished in 57.37 seconds. Saturday's finish is the second-fastest time in the NEC this season. She also ran the NEC's ninth-fastest 200m dash time, clocking in at 26.01 seconds.
- Sophomore Madison Stott (Dartmouth, Mass.) and junior Grace Tyrrell (Cavendish, Vt.) finished 13th and 14th in the 400m dash as Stott crossed the finish line in 58.26 seconds, followed by Tyrrell at 58.43 seconds. Stott's time was the best for her in an indoor 400m, and Tyrrell's marks a new PR for the sophomore. They now rank fifth and sixth in the NEC in the event.
- Stott and Tyrrell also finished back-to-back in the 200m dash open, placing 22nd and 23rd as they both set PRs in the race, finishing in 26.14 seconds and 26.20 seconds.
- Sophomore Anna Casey (Medford, Mass.) ran the fourth-fastest 800-meter run in the NEC this season, placing 17th at 2:19.86. This marks a new personal record for her in the indoor 800m and is just behind her PR of 2:19.21 that she set last spring.
- Freshman Emmy Belvin (Chepachet, R.I.) placed 26th in the 800m with a new PR of 2:21.50.
- Junior Jordan Malloy (Colchester, Conn.) continued her excellent start to the indoor season, placing fourth out of 58 runners in the 3000-meter race, as she set a new PR in the event and set the top time in the conference this season at 9:46.23. She now holds the top mile, 3000m, and 4x800m relay times in the NEC this winter.
- Sophomore Iasmim DeSousa Vieira (Medford, Mass.) competed in the first indoor 5000-meter race of her career, placing 24th at 19:16.46.
