ERIE, Pa. (Oct. 10, 2025) – The Stonehill field hockey team picked up a road win in an NEC contest Friday afternoon, topping Mercyhurst by a score of 1-0.
Havana De Roeck netted the game-winner in the fourth quarter for the Skyhawks, while
Isabelle Morton recorded the first shutout of her career.
With the win, Stonehill improves to 3-9 overall and 3-2 in the NEC, while the Lakers fall to 0-10 and 0-5 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first three quarters,
Havana De Roeck found a loose ball in front and fired a shot past Mercyhurst goalkeeper Rhyden Wheldon to break the tie at 53:46, putting Stonehill in front.
The Skyhawks outshot the Lakers, 26-6, including a 22-4 margin on net. Stonehill also earned nine corners, compared to four for Mercyhurst.

Stonehill (3-9, 3-2 NEC) will make the trip to Hamilton, N.Y., to take on Colgate (3-8, 0-2 Patriot League) in a non-conference contest Sunday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.
