NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Oct. 19, 2025) – The Stonehill field hockey team suffered a 4-1 contest on the road in its NEC matchup at Sacred Heart Sunday. The loss drops the Skyhawks to 4-3 in the NEC and 4-11 overall, while the Pioneers move to 3-4 in league play and 5-0 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Pioneers broke the scoreless tie early in the first, as Cassie Chapjian fired a shot for a goal on the transition, making it 1-0 at 2:37. Later in the opening frame, Celia Benson upped the Sacred Heart lead to 2-0 at 9:23. Jenna Baxter (27:37) and Cate McConaghy (29:07) added goals for the Pioneers late in the first half, as Sacred Heart took a 4-0 advantage into halftime.
In the final minutes of regulation,
Havana De Roeck netted her second goal of the weekend to make it a 4-1 contest.

Stonehill (4-11, 4-3 NEC) will return home to host Wagner (6-9, 5-2 NEC) in a key NEC game at W.B. Mason Stadium on Friday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m.
