EASTON, Mass. (Oct. 29, 2025) – Freshman Emma Kawai of the Stonehill swimming team has been selected as the NEC Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon. In addition, junior Grace Idowu was tabbed an NEC Prime Performer.

Kawai, a native of Winchester, Mass., won the 200 backstroke (2:11.43) and was fourth in the 400 individual medley (4:47.50) in Stonehill's home dual meets against Merrimack and Sacred Heart Oct. 26. The Skyhawks topped the Warriors, 147-140.

Idowu, who hails from Riding Mill, England, helped clinch the team victory for Stonehill as a member of the 200 freestyle relay that took home the event with a collective mark of 1:41.05. Idowu earned victory in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.58, and she was second in the 100 freestyle (54.09). Idowu was also a member of the 400 medley relay that took second with a mark of 3:59.35.

Stonehill will next compete at Babson College on Friday, Nov. 7 at 5 p.m.
