Box Score EASTON, Mass. (Oct. 3, 2025) – The Stonehill field hockey team scored four times in the first half to earn a 6-1 victory over LIU in an NEC matchup Friday afternoon at W.B. Mason Stadium.
With the victory, the Skyhawks improve to 2-8 and 2-2 in the NEC, while the Sharks move to 1-9 and 1-2 in league play.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Makayla Strickulis tied her career-high with a two-goal effort against LIU.

- Isa Houben and Delany Wojnarowicz both scored a goal and assisted on another tally for three-point games.

- Isabelle Morton recorded 10 saves in net for Stonehill, including one off a penalty stroke opportunity.

- The Skyhawks scored a season-best six goals, the most for Stonehill since a 6-3 win over Queens University of Charlotte on Oct. 13, 2024.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Stonehill wasted little time finding the back of the net Friday, as Strickulis netted her first goal of the contest just 2:52 into the game, coming off a pass from Houben off a penalty corner. Strickulis struck again later in the first quarter, this time unassisted at the 12:10 mark.
Heading into the second quarter,
Sadie Elion made it 3-0 in favor of the Skyhawks off a pass from
Maia Kimball at 17:00. The Skyhawks extended its lead to 4-0 minutes later when Wojnarowicz beat LIU goalkeeper Emma Capparelli at 22:37. Stonehill outshot LIU, 11-3, in the first half.
Karleigh Mirabile upped Stonehill's advantage to 5-0 at 49:40 off a pass from
Siena De Roeck. With 3:23 to play, Houben capped the scoring with a goal off an assist by Wojnarowicz, giving the Skyhawks a 6-1 lead en route to the victory.

Stonehill (2-8, 2-2 NEC) will step out of conference play to visit New Hampshire (4-5, 0-1 America East) on Sunday, Oct. 5 for a 1 p.m. start in Durham, N.H.
