AMES, IOWA (NOV. 17, 2025) – Playing their third game in four days, the Stonehill men's basketball team entered the Hilton Coliseum to face the No. 16 team in the country Iowa State on Monday evening. The Cyclones were able to get the best of the Skyhawks escaping with the 96-57 win.'
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Hermann Koffi dropped double figures for the fifth straight game leading the Skyhawks with 16 points.
- Junior Ridvan Tutic followed up with eight points, while pulling down five rebounds.
- Graduate student Raymond Espinal-Guzman netted six points, while sophomore Pearse McGuinn came off the bench and also tallied six points.
- Sophomore Trenton Ruth came off the bench and tied his career single-game best, dishing out five assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Skyhawks hung tough with the nationally ranked Cyclones throughout the first half. With just over four minutes remaining in the period, sophomore
Hermann Koffi drained a clutch three to cut the deficit to two possessions, 32-26. However, Iowa State found a groove and closed out the half with a 10-1 run to take the 42-27 into the break.
Iowa State showed why they were a top 20 team in the country and kept the pressure on Stonehill. But the Skyhawks showed resilience and came up with highlights of their own. Midway through the second half, junior
Trenton Ruth picked the pocket of Killyan Toure and connected with junior
Davante Hackett who took the rock back down the court for the fast-break, highlight reel dunk.
