EASTON, Mass. (Nov. 9, 2025) – The 2025 Stonehill men's soccer season came to a close following a 1-0 defeat the hands of LIU on Sunday afternoon.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Seniors Owen Burke and Shane Fonseca led the Skyhawks with four shots.
- Sophomore Jack Kampe also recorded four shots, including a pair on target.
- Junior goalkeeper Kyle Tencza registered three saves.
- Sophomore James Forrest-Hay notched two shots on net for the Skyhawks.
- The Skyhawks outshot the Sharks, 18-8.
HOW IT HAPPENED
It was an even match with the majority of the game being contested in the midfield. LIU started to mount pressure on the Skyhawks in the 16
th minute. Francisco Tolaba fired a shot from the far side post that Skyhawks' goalkeeper
Kyle Tencza came up with a big save to keep the game scoreless.
However, the Sharks were able to strike in the 40
th minute when Francesco Chiappo fired a laser into the back right corner of the net to put LIU up 1-0. Stonehill battled valiantly to the end nearly scoring the equalizer in the final one minute of play with three corner kick opportunities. But they were unable to put the ball into the back of the game.
