HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first two innings from both teams, Stonehill broke the deadlock in the top of the third. Cohall led off the inning with a sharp single into the right-center gap. Gaspar then stepped to the plate and delivered a towering home run over the left-field wall, giving the Skyhawks a 2-0 lead with his third home run of the two-game midweek series.

VMI responded in the bottom of the third to cut the deficit in half. Junior Kazuya Jordan led off with a triple to center field, and junior Owen Prince followed with an RBI single, bringing Jordan home.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Keydets took their first lead of the game. Garner tied the score at two, crossing the plate after a throwing error by Lanzer. Senior Ryan Peterson then executed a successful sacrifice infield hit, allowing junior Grayson Fitzwater to score and put VMI ahead by one heading into the fifth inning.

Stonehill responded in the top of the fifth with a solo home run from LeClair to even the score at three. However, VMI quickly regained the lead in the bottom half. A sacrifice fly from Prince, followed by a solo home run from Raile, gave the Keydets a two-run advantage.

Over the next three innings, VMI added six more runs to the board, while Stonehill managed only one additional run—off a solo home run by Morrison in the top of the eighth. The Keydets sealed an 11-4 victory to conclude the midweek two-game series.
