How it Happened
After a scoreless opening nine minutes in the non-conference matchup, Sacred Heart broke the deadlock with 6:10 remaining in the first quarter, as Insinga netted her first of three goals on the day, assisted by Tanner. Less than two minutes later, Stonehill responded, leveling the score at 1-1 when Murphy converted a player-up opportunity with a free-position goal. With 1:03 left in the opening frame, Murphy struck again, capitalizing on another free-position attempt for her second goal of the quarter and 27th of the season, giving the Skyhawks a narrow 2-1 lead heading into the second.

The second quarter saw Farace open the scoring for Sacred Heart, tying the game at 2-2. However, Stonehill surged ahead, scoring six consecutive goals to take a commanding 8-2 lead at the halftime break. Beigel and Flaherty each found the back of the net within 30 seconds of one another, giving the Skyhawks a two-goal lead. Coutu followed with back-to-back goals, extending the lead to 6-2 with just under five minutes remaining in the half. LaPia then netted her career-high 12th goal of the season, before Murphy completed her seventh hat trick of the campaign with 3:15 left in the second quarter.

In the second half, Sacred Heart mounted a determined comeback, scoring four of the first five goals in the third quarter. Despite this rally, the Skyhawks outscored the Pioneers 5-3 in the period, with Insinga contributing two goals, and Tanner, senior Maci Black, and freshman Bella Calvanese each adding one.

Although Stonehill was outscored 9-5 in the second half, the Skyhawks' defense held firm, fending off Sacred Heart's late push in the fourth quarter to secure a hard-fought, 13-11, non-conference victory.
