EASTON, MASS. (March 23, 2025) – The Stonehill College softball team dropped a Northeast Conference contest against LIU, 8-0, at Fr. Gartland Field in six innings on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Three of the first four batters of the game drew walks and Dallas Andrews drove in two of them with a single through the right side of the infield to give LIU a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
Three more runs came across for the Sharks in the top of the third after two singles and two walks, followed by a wild pitch and a double steal. Sophomore
Harper Sullivan (Glendale, Ariz.) relieved sophomore
Alex Sciarretto (Bristol, Conn.) in the fourth inning, recording three straight outs before giving up three singles and a run in the fifth. Sullivan left runners on first and second, forcing back-to-back flyouts to get out of the inning with LIU leading 6-0.
The Sharks loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth inning and scored two runs on a fielder's choice to the shortstop to go ahead 8-0.
The Skyhawks went down 1-2-3 in the sixth as LIU secured the series sweep, going 3-0 against Stonehill in NEC play this weekend.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Senior Isabella Therrien (Auburn, Mass.) and freshman Grace Conaway (St. Paul Park, Minn.) recorded the only two hits of the game for the Skyhawks as both went 1-2 with singles.
- LIU Starter Alyssa O'Donnell picked up her second straight win in the circle, improving to 2-1 with two innings pitched, giving up zero hits.
- Sarah Wall picked up her first save of the season for the Sharks, going 4 IP in relief, allowing just two hits with one strikeout.
