Softball Bats Held in Check at Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. (March 25, 2025) – The Stonehill College softball team dropped a non-conference contest at the Harrington Athletics Village against Boston College, 6-1, on Tuesday.

Boston College 6 (13-14, 1-8 ACC), Stonehill 1 (6-17, 0-6 NEC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Stonehill took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second after a scoreless first inning when senior Isabella Therrien (Auburn, Mass.) launched a homerun to lead off the frame.

Boston College used a triple and a sacrifice fly to tie the score at 1-1 in the third inning before breaking the tie in the bottom of the fourth after a double steal that resulted in Therrien throwing out the runner at second while an Eagle scored from third.

BC added a third run in the fifth on a solo shot from Meghan Schouten, followed by an Emma Jackson solo homerun in the sixth and a two-RBI double for Schouten in the same inning to make it a 6-1 Eagle lead.

After the Therrien homerun, the Skyhawks were held to one hit for the remainder of the game as Boston College secured the 6-1 win.
